Empowerment on the Trail

Before diving into Day 2, it’s important to recognize Women Who Explore. Their thoughtful organization and community-driven approach made this leg of the Tour du Mont Blanc more than just a journey through the Alps, it became a celebration of shared purpose. Baffin was proud to have Marketing Specialist, Sidney Durante, join this inspiring, women-led and women-attended expedition, representing the brand while putting Baffin gear through another round of Real-World Testing on one of the most demanding days of the trek.
Where Challenge Meets Technology

Day 2 brought the most technically challenging terrain yet. A steep and unrelenting ascent, paired with morning rain, turned the slate, rock, and dirt trails into slick, shifting surfaces. Conditions like these demanded precise footing, an ideal environment to Real-World Test ELORA MID.
Baffin’s IceBite® technology, engineered to enhance traction and reduce slipping on wet or icy ground, delivered performance where it mattered most. Each step through the high alpine terrain reaffirmed the importance of stability, comfort, and confidence underfoot.
Testing New Frontiers in Apparel

As the team reached the summit, temperatures dropped sharply to 2°C, offering the perfect opportunity to test prototypes of Baffin apparel in the early stages of development. Sidney layered the ACTIVE FIT LONG SLEEVE PROTOYPE beneath a PUFFER JACKET PROTOTYPE, both designed for performance in dynamic, cold-weather environments.
The ACTIVE FIT LONG SLEEVE PROTOTYPE provided lightweight warmth and moisture management, while the PUFFER JACKET PROTOTYPE delivered insulated comfort without sacrificing mobility. Together, they maintained warmth and body temperature regulation throughout the team’s rest and recovery at the summit. This was a true testament to the innovation behind Baffin’s expanding apparel line.
Descent and Discovery

As the clouds began to lift, the payoff was unforgettable, panoramic alpine views stretching across the horizon, revealing the rugged beauty of the Mont Blanc massif. What began as a challenging climb evolved into a moment of reflection and reward.
But the day was far from over. The long, steep descent tested endurance as much as the climb had tested strength. With every step, the Baffin gear continued to prove its worth — , reliable, resilient, and built for the elements.
Looking Ahead
After a demanding day on the trail, the team closed Day 2 with tired legs but renewed excitement. The coming day would mark a milestone moment, crossing the border into Italy, a highlight of the journey and Sidney’s personal favourite day of the trek.
Stay tuned as the Alpine Odyssey | Mont Blanc Trek: Side Trails continues, with every climb and crossing pushing the limits of Baffin innovation, and every summit telling a new story of adventure, endurance, and Real-World Testing™.
